Led by the "Sony Group Environmental Vision" for global environment conservation, Sony Chemical & Information Device has actively been promoting reduction of environmental burden in our Tagajyo, Kanuma, Neagari, Nakada and Toyosato Plants, as well as in the Head Office and four affiliates, which is to contribute Sony Group's goal specified as "Green Management 2010." We have been making efforts in energy conservation, water recycling, reduction in use of possibly hazardous substances, and recycling of industrial wastes in our nine production sites within and outside Japan. Furthermore, we are developing environmentally conscious products with improved recyclability, and advancing the "Green Procurement" scheme, in which suppliers conforming to certain criteria on chemical substance management are designated as "Green Partners" to extend our environmental considerations to parts and starting materials.
