Overall picture of our environmental impact
Through our ongoing business activities, the Sony Chemical & Information Device Group uses large amounts of energy, water, and chemical substances, and emits waste, effluent, and CO2 which constitute a considerable environmental impact. As part of this, we examine how to curb CO2 emissions by switching over to alternative energies that have a low environmental impact, recycle water, promote reductions in our amount of waste, and carry out rigorous management of chemical substances. We also sincerely work on environmental conservation activities, and strive to balance our business activities with environmental conservation.
We determine the environmental impact on the environmental side (INPUT/OUTPUT) from our production activities as a whole, including our products, manufacturing processes, shipping, and disposal. We then set reduction targets by conducting environmental impact assessments, and carry out activities to mitigate our environmental impact.
