Application Example

  • Bonding and fixing of components in non-conductive positions
  • For bonding of materials soluble in toluene, MEK (such as polycarbonate, Noryl, ABS or acrylics), please contact us beforehand.

* Please be sure to avoid any use of these materials in electronic components that are to be energized electrically to prevent tracking or similar problems.
We recommend applying our polyester resin-based self-extinguishing adhesives SC608Z2 and SC608LVZ2.

Technical Data

SC121 contains solvent. Apply the product to the substrate, and wait for about three minutes ("open time") to let the solvent evaporate partially before actual bonding. The open time depends on ambient temperature. The bonding strength increases as the solvent evaporates.

Insulation resistance increases as the solvent evaporates. Insulation resistance was measured on a test circuit pattern after JIS Z3197 formed on a glass-epoxy substrate coated by 35µm -thick copper foil.

6. Impact force resistance


Test Piece condition
  • A diskrete capacitor 2 g or 10 g in weight was bonded on a glass-epoxy circuit board (5 x 5 cm in size). The assembly was aged for seven days at 20°C in an atmosphere of 60% in RH. The assembly was then dropped from a height of one meter.

8.Storage


The product should be stored under conditions suitable for adhesives. Follow instructions in instruction manuals or as shown on the labels. The maximum shelf life of adhesives is one year. Use the lots out of a large quantity stored in order of age. Adhesives containing solvents are hazardous materials. Observe the provisions of fire prevention laws.

    Check the relevant material safety data sheet (MSDS) and instruction manuals for precautions required for operation.
  2. Operation environment
    - Keep ignition sources away.
    - Use a local ventilator to ensure sufficient air circulation.
  3. First aid
    - Learn action to take from the MSDS and instruction manuals.
    - In case of eye contact, vapor inhalation or swallowing, seek medical attention immediately.
  4. Storage
    Store the product in a tightly closed container in a predetermined place at room temperature avoiding direct sunlight.
  5. Prohibition of unintended use
    - Never use the product except as an adhesive.
