- Bonding and fixing of components in non-conductive positions
- For bonding of materials soluble in toluene, MEK (such as polycarbonate, Noryl, ABS or acrylics), please contact us beforehand.
* Please be sure to avoid any use of these materials in electronic components that are to be energized electrically to prevent tracking or similar problems.
We recommend applying our polyester resin-based self-extinguishing adhesives SC608Z2 and SC608LVZ2.
[Precautions on the use of chloroprene rubber-based adhesives]
SC121 contains solvent. Apply the product to the substrate, and wait for about three minutes ("open time") to let the solvent evaporate partially before actual bonding. The open time depends on ambient temperature. The bonding strength increases as the solvent evaporates.

5-1.Electrical property
Insulation resistance increases as the solvent evaporates. Insulation resistance was measured on a test circuit pattern after JIS Z3197 formed on a glass-epoxy substrate coated by 35µm -thick copper foil.

|---|---|
| Aging time: | 3 min |

6. Impact force resistance
- A diskrete capacitor 2 g or 10 g in weight was bonded on a glass-epoxy circuit board (5 x 5 cm in size). The assembly was aged for seven days at 20°C in an atmosphere of 60% in RH. The assembly was then dropped from a height of one meter.
| Capacitor weight | Number of trial falls | Result |
|---|---|---|
| 2g | 10 times | No change |
| 10g | 10 times | No change |
7.Expansion ratio & inflection point
- Expansion ratio was measured by the compression loading method using a Rigaku thermomechanical analyzer (TMA).
| Expansion ratio α | Inflection point °C |
|---|---|
|
7.97 x 10-5/°C(20 to 112°C) -1.43 x 10-4 /°C(112 to 150°C) |
